EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Jenasha Roy Talks about Modeling, Acting and What She Loves about Her Job



Our Editor-in-Cheif MG chatted with Super talented Actress, model, and digital media influencer Jenasha Roy, who appeared on an episode of FOX’s Fresh Off the Boat. She later earned a role in the feature film Always & Forever as young Sommer.
MG: First of all thank you, Jenasha Roy, please tell us a little about you?
 
JR: First of all, let me start by saying thank you Jamo Mag for giving me this awesome opportunity to get interviewed by you. My name is Jenasha Roy. I am 15 years old I’m a Pisces born & raised in Hollywood Florida currently residing in Los Angeles. I’m a Sag actress and Model. Somehow I ended up being in the fashion world which people call me a fashionista.

MG: What brought you to be part of this industry and why?
JR: I started in the Modeling industry back in Miami at the age of 7 where I did some print ads and some local Tv commercials then crossed over to LA where I started Acting.



MG: You are an amazing actor and a model, you are perfect in both but which one seems more fun for you?
JR: aww thank you so much...... well my heart goes half and half for both Modeling and Acting but I would say slightly Modeling seems more fun to me.

MG: How do you describe your experience while working as a model?
JR: I would describe my experience while working as a Model, I would say I’m totally free I have the opportunity to bring myself throughout the whole experience no playing characters, no script, Just me.

MG: What excites you about Acting?
JR: Portraying a character that’s what excites me more about acting, learning a long script is not always fun but when you have it down pact, you memorize it & when you have to deliver it that’s one of the best parts for me.

MG: Tell us about a time where you had difficulty with a character. What was the role and why was it challenging?JR: oh that I can say, a script or a few scenes can have one too many words that I’m not familiar with which I start stuttering that becomes challenging.

MG: When was your first role as an actor?
JR: My first role as an Actor was on a short film “Letters” I played the role of Sammy which by the way won an award at the 2017 film festival.

MG: In which area would you like to improve as an actor?
JR: Definitely, Comedy because I always categorize myself in drama type of roles but I’m working on my comedy skills.

MG: Of all the roles you have played in the past, which is your favorite?
JR: My favorite so far is my guest-starring role on Fox Tv series “ Fresh Off The Boat “.

MG: Who is your favorite actor, and why?JR: I’m inspired by a lot of great actors..... there are so many amazing people in this industry: Jessica Lange, Lupita, Voila Davis, etc ..Who I can get lots of tips from to me help me grow better as an actor.
MG: What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever done for you?
JR: Actually, I would not categorize it as weirdest thing ...a fan somehow found my app box and sent me a present for my birthday which by the way I consider as a pretty nice gesture.

MG: Tell me about an organization or group outside of work that you contributed to
?JR: I volunteered for ( UCLA children’s hospital ) For the toy drive last Christmas & I love the fact that I got to experience it with some friends.

MG: What sort of acting roles will you be seeking in the future?
JR: I would love to be in a horror film, a drama tv series and more.

MG: Who is your Fashion inspiration and why?
JR: My fashion inspiration: as far as models are Naomi Campbell & Yasmeen Ghauri they both have such unique sassy walks
